COINS Workers

Tania Wolak:
COINS Team Leader

Tania was a modern foreign languages teacher at The Kennet School, Thatcham, before joining us in September 2009. Tania is married to Steve, they have two children and Alfie, the black Labrador.

“I consider it a real privilege to be working for COINS.
It is a gift from God for me to be
able to use my skills as a teacher and to share the love of Jesus with the children we meet. It is also a real privilege being able to build relationships with the young people who come to our clubs and who often open up to us about the difficult circumstances in their lives. I think they appreciate having someone in their school with time to listen. I am also blessed with wonderful team members, who always become real friends.”

Emma Garrett:
COINS Session Worker

Emma joined the team in the autumn of 2012.  She is married to Luke and they have two children. Her drama skills are much appreciated by both the children and the rest of the team.

“I was truly blessed by joining ‘the COINS family’. I have been made very welcome by all who work with COINS but, just as importantly, by the amazing kids with whom we have the privilege to meet. Working with young people can be a challenge at the best of times, but I feel the ministry of COINS is not only worthwhile but vital to these children. What can be more rewarding or humbling than inviting children into a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, equipping them for a Christian life in an increasingly secular society? My training as an actress and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher have certainly come in handy, but nothing could have prepared me so much as my walk with the Lord.”

Jo Stuckey:
COINS Session Worker

Jo joined us back in the Autumn term of 2017. She has done a variety of jobs and travelled the world but we are glad that she has now settled in Newbury.

Hi, my name is Jo and I am very excited to have joined the COINS team.  I have loved Jesus since I was a small child and still love to share my friendship with Jesus with others.  Jesus always has a special place in His heart for young people, which I share with Him.  My working life has been dedicated to young people, whether in schools as a teacher, or in the community as a youth worker.  Thank you for your prayers for the team and especially for me as I settle into my new role.

Victoria Maxton-Livesey:
COINS Session Worker

Two new team members joined us in October 2018.  Victoria is married to Alistair and they have one son, Henry, who is 10.  Victoria was brought up in Kintbury and attended the village church, before going to a convent school in Abingdon.

I spent a gap year in New Zealand, where I became a committed Christian.  When Ireturned to England Itrained as a nurse and attended HTB church in London.  After marrying Alistair, we moved to Bath, returning to Kintbury a few years ago.  We now attend St Nicolas’ Church in Newbury as well as supporting the local village church.  Recently I worked as a school nurse at a boys’ prep school, which I really enjoyed.  I also started the Kennet Valley ‘Filling Station’, which has been running for over a year.  Last year, after hearing about the amazing outreach work being done in schools and feeling a call to be involved, I started volunteering for COINS. It is a real privilege and a wonderful blessing to be part of such an amazing team and I feel called to go into schools to the west of Newbury, to bring the work of COINS to even more children.

Colleen Fisher:
COINS Session Worker

Colleen also joined us in October 2018. Shortly after becoming part of the COINS team, Colleen became engaged to Ste Bate, the Leadership Coordinator of Glendale Church - we don't think there is a connection!  Originally from Ontario in Canada, Colleen has been in the UK for eight years.

My name is Colleen Fisher, and I’m thrilled to be starting with COINS. I have a huge passion for children and an even huger passion for Jesus! Combine these two and you have something I’m willing to give my life away for! I have five years experience in a larger church in London as Leader of Children’s and Families ministries, and have been working for Glendale Church as Kid’s Ministry Leader for nearly a year now. I’m looking Forward to the future and what God is going to do!
