COINS Workers

Tania Wolak:
COINS Team Leader

Tania was a modern foreign languages teacher at The Kennet School, Thatcham, before joining us in September 2009. Tania is married to Steve, they have two children and Alfie, the black Labrador.

“I consider it a real privilege to be working for COINS.
It is a gift from God for me to be
able to use my skills as a teacher and to share the love of Jesus with the children we meet. It is also a real privilege being able to build relationships with the young people who come to our clubs and who often open up to us about the difficult circumstances in their lives. I think they appreciate having someone in their school with time to listen. I am also blessed with wonderful team members, who always become real friends.”

Emma Garrett:
COINS Session Worker

Emma joined the team in the autumn of 2012.  She is married to Luke and they have two children. Her drama skills are much appreciated by both the children and the rest of the team.

“I was truly blessed by joining ‘the COINS family’. I have been made very welcome by all who work with COINS but, just as importantly, by the amazing kids with whom we have the privilege to meet. Working with young people can be a challenge at the best of times, but I feel the ministry of COINS is not only worthwhile but vital to these children. What can be more rewarding or humbling than inviting children into a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, equipping them for a Christian life in an increasingly secular society? My training as an actress and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher have certainly come in handy, but nothing could have prepared me so much as my walk with the Lord.”

Sarah South:
COINS Session Worker

The newest member of our team is Sarah, who joined us in February 2015. She is married to Jon and has lived in Newbury for a couple of years. Before joining COINS she volunteered with the club at Robert Sandilands. Prior to that Sarah qualified as a primary school teacher and she also works at St Joseph's for two days a week.

“I have had the privilege of working in several church schools during my career, where I have been able to share my faith and teach children about Jesus. I also have very fond memories of Christians from local churches coming into my primary school when I was little to lead assemblies – we always used to get so excited when they came! I heard about the work of COINS at church, and was interested to learn about the ministry, so I began as a club volunteer and also helped with a couple of sessions of the Christmas Gift, which was wonderful – what an opportunity to share Jesus with so many children! The children are great, lively and keen to ask questions and find out more. My hope is that I can share some of the joy and excitement of knowing Jesus, and the amazing love that God has for us, with local children here in Newbury.”
